The program was established in 1997 and its first students were admitted in the 1997-1998 academic year.

Qualification Awarded
The students who fulfil the program's graduation requirements are awarded with the qualification of Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature.

Admission Requirements
Citizens of Turkish Republic: High School Diploma and the required score on the University Entrance Exam administered by the Higher Education Council of Turkey. Foreign Student Admission: High School Diploma, High School Exit Exam ratified by the Higher Education Council (Abitur, International Baccalaureate, GCE, Tawjihi, etc.) or the exams taken in the last two years and considered equivalent to the University Entrance Exam (SAT, EFS, etc.)

Higher Grade Transition
The students who fulfill the admission requirements of MA and PhD programmes can pursue their graduate studies.

Graduation Requirements
In order to be qualified as a graduate, students who have studied in this program must have completed minimum ECTS credits required for the course plan and structure and must have a grade point average of at least 2.00 over 4.00. Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Our graduates can work in the following areas: High schools and other educational institutions, universities, publishing houses, embassies and consulates, media, public relations and advertisement agencies, multinational companies, tourism agencies, or pursue an academic career at a university.

Assessment and Grading
During a semester, students are required to take at least one mid-term and one final exam. The instructor can assess assignments, projects, and term papers as a mid-term exam. The final exam cannot be less than 40% or more than 70% of the total grade. The grading policy of each course is announced at the beginning of the semester.
